The final film in the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, set three years after Episode II. Anakin is now a Jedi Knight, Obi-Wan is a Jedi Master, and the Clone Wars are still raging on. Episode III showed Anakin's transformation into the villain Darth Vader and his embrace of the Dark Side.

Cast

Directed by George Lucas with a cast consisting of Hayden Christensen, Natalie Portman, Ewan McGregor, Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Lee, and Ian McDiarmid. They reprise their respective roles for the last time in the prequel trilogy.

Plot Summary

It has been three years since the Clone Wars began. Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) rescue Chancellor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) from General Grievous, the commander of the droid armies, but Grievous escapes. Suspicions are raised within the Jedi Council concerning Chancellor Palpatine, with whom Anakin has formed a bond. Asked to spy on the chancellor, and full of bitterness toward the Jedi Council, Anakin embraces the Dark Side.

Production Value

With a budget of $113 million, the final film in the Star Wars prequel Trilogy, made $848.8 million in the box office. Special effects were created using a combination of model work, CGI, and practical effects.
