The third film in the original Star Wars trilogy numbered as Episode 6, although it was the third film made, was a slight disappointment in the original three episodes. After coming after the best and most emotional episode, it didn't live up to the standards set by the fifth episode. But it was a triumphant finale for these characters journey filled with action and excitement.

Cast

Directed by Richard Marquand with a returning cast consisting of Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, and David Prowse. They reprise their respective roles for what they think is the last time in the last of the original trilogy of Star Wars films, that will shape popular culture for years to come.

Plot Summary

Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) battles horrible Jabba the Hut and cruel Darth Vader to save his comrades in the Rebel Alliance and triumph over the Galactic Empire. Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) reaffirm their love and team with Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams), the Ewoks and the androids C-3PO and R2-D2 to aid in the disruption of the Dark Side and the defeat of the evil emperor.

Production Value

With the biggest budget out of the original trilogy of $32.5–42.7 million, it made $475.1–572.7 million in the box office. Even with the bigger budget it didn't manage to be as popular as the second film in the original Star Wars trilogy.

Star Value

⭐⭐⭐⭐
I give Return of the Jedi, 4 out of 5 stars.
