George Lucas' second film in the Star Wars franchise, although named Episode 5 to the confusion to many people to this day, was the second film created in the series. It is one of the best films in the original trilogy, and containing some of the most iconic moments in film history.

Cast

Directed by Irvin Kershner with a returning cast consisting of Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, and David Prowse. They continue to bring the characters of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Darth Vader to life.

Plot Summary

The adventure continues in this "Star Wars" sequel. Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) face attack by the Imperial forces and its AT-AT walkers on the ice planet Hoth. While Han and Leia escape in the Millennium Falcon, Luke travels to Dagobah in search of Yoda. Only with the Jedi master's help will Luke survive when the dark side of the Force beckons him into the ultimate duel with Darth Vader (David Prowse).

Production Value

With a slightly bigger budget than the first film of $18-33 million, it made $534.1–538.4 million in the box office. It continued to bring the Star Wars universe to life with the physical props and special effects.
